Woodworking project question? - changing table woodworking plans

I want to build a changing table / dresser nice about 1 "X8" White Oak. The problem is that something is strictly constructed wooden board, usually plywood panels were my projects. I think the open shelves that sit on small baskets, so there is no drawers, but I would like to avoid that in the situation, a portion of a timber below. This is useful please give me some ideas, that welcomes and as appreciated!
